Aircraft Avionics Technician

About This Role

Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems wiring in aircraft for a leading defense technology company. The role requires adherence to technical specifications, engineering instructions, and DoD regulations.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems wiring in aircraft
• Fabricate, install, and test installation, routing, clamping, and wiring harnesses
• Read wiring diagrams and blueprints
• Assemble and/or fit together parts to form subassemblies and/or complete units
• Perform a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, tools, and equipment
• Follow Foreign Object Prevention (FOD) and Electronic Static Discharge prevention (ESD) practices
• Interpret and follow manufacturing orders
• Operate shop machinery including torque wrench, pneumatic tools, common hand tools, and scales
• Inspect finished products for conformance to specifications
• Fabricate, assemble, install, repair, modify, test, operate, and troubleshoot avionics/electrical modules, components, and wire harnesses

Requirements

• Prior experience with avionics/aircraft maintenance
• Ability to read schematics and drawings
• Proficiency at electronic assembly, soldering, crimping, splicing, harness fabrication, and control panel building
• Ability to test and isolate failures to components
• Ability to install components
• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
• Strong decision-making abilities
• Strong isolation & troubleshooting skills
• Accurate basic math skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years avionics/aircraft maintenance experience. Up to 6+ years for Technician III.

Nice to Have

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
