This role is for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients while also supporting physician colleagues through clinical coordination and workflow support within a team-based primary care and internal medicine setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients, including history taking, physical exams, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education.
- Spend approximately 50% of time in direct patient care and 50% supporting physician colleagues and clinical workflows (no independent patient panel).
- Order and interpret appropriate labs, imaging, and referrals; perform procedures within scope of practice.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, care coordinators, and specialists to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Support care coordination activities, including follow-up on results, referrals, and chronic disease management.
- Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, ensuring appropriate coding and compliance.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, population health efforts, and practice workflow optimization.
- Maintain professionalism, regulatory compliance, and active participation in provider meetings and trainings.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program (for Nurse Practitioner)
- Graduation from an accredited PA program (for Physician Assistant)
- Active Maryland license (or ability to obtain)
- Current DEA license and Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)
- Unrestricted license with no history of suspension or revocation
- Eligible for participation with all payers
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program (for NP) or Graduation from an accredited PA program (for PA)
- Prior experience in Internal Medicine or adult primary care preferred

- Prior experience in Internal Medicine or adult primary care
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR experience preferred)
