Admissions Coordinator

About This Role

The Admissions Coordinator facilitates the conversion of referrals into admissions, manages financial evaluations for potential residents, and ensures accurate record-keeping in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in collaborative relationship between business and admissions offices
• Perform daily duties in the admissions office to convert referrals to admission status
• Monitor the status of each referral at all times
• Communicate with external team members regarding referral status and needed information
• Communicate daily with Business Office for financial evaluations and payment options
• Secure prior authorization for payment entities when required
• Maintain working knowledge of facility’s practices for all pay status types
• Complete mental health screenings as required by federal and state regulations
• Assist with timely processing of referrals daily
• Ensure accurate admission, transfer, and discharge records in facility software
• Record resident pay status changes on internal daily census communication tool
• Meet with potential residents/representatives daily to provide facility information and tours

Requirements

• Demonstrated understanding of arithmetic

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience with demonstrated success in a long-term care facility or related healthcare facility

Nice to Have

• 1+ year of experience with demonstrated success in a position in the facility or in another related health care facility
• Knowledgeable of insurance coverage and authorization process pertaining to long-term care
