About This Role

This role provides academic support for historically challenging Perkins courses in Accounting to enhance student retention and success by acting as a near-peer facilitator and assisting designated personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Assume a near-peer facilitator role to ensure program's purpose.
  • Attend most courses as assigned.
  • Create and write supplemental instruction plans for sessions.
  • Collaborate with immediate manager and instructors to ensure adequate support and accurate session data.
  • Utilize various technology platforms and interactive learning strategies.
  • Input and track related data, prepare documents, reports, and correspondences.
  • Distribute survey data information.
  • Develop resources and outreach materials to encourage participation in supplemental instruction.
  • Develop training resources for Academic & Tutoring Support Services.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or 60 credits
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Evidence of understanding of related target course content
  • Academic recommendation
  • Completion of required training and professional development program requirements
  • At least one year of experience in one-on-one and small group instructional setting
