Accounting Director

About This Role

Lead and oversee all accounting operations for a rapidly growing multi-site healthcare organization, ensuring accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting scalable processes to enable growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities and locations
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Maintain consistency and standardization of accounting policies across sites
• Own accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting matters
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, healthcare-specific regulations, and payer requirements
• Oversee revenue recognition, including healthcare billing, collections, and contractual allowances
• Support external audits, reviews, and tax filings
• Design, implement, and enhance internal controls and accounting processes suitable for a PE-backed environment
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, including managers and staff accountants

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
• Experience in healthcare, multi-site, or services-based organizations
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Proven experience managing monthly close and external audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles

Nice to Have

• Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment
• Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm)
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-location accounting structures
• ERP implementation or optimization experience
