About This Role

Manage an assigned book of business within commercial lines, ensuring account retention and generating new business. This role coordinates administrative and customer service activities, resolves complex issues, and maintains data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business
  • Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities
  • Resolve complex issues and ensure no errors or omissions in tasks
  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in insurance
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals
  • Monitor accounts receivable reports and collect outstanding balances
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion
  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and issues
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures and seek best practices

Requirements

  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Active insurance licensing
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry

Nice to Have

  • Professional designation (CIC or equivalent)
