Account Manager - Commercial Lines

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of commercial lines insurance business, focusing on account retention and supporting new business. Coordinate claims, billing, and policy administration while maintaining technical competence and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues
• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial insurance
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals, conducting client research and preparing submissions
• Monitor accounts receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion
• Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures and seek best practices

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active insurance licensing
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry

• Professional designation (CIC or equivalent)
