About This Role

The Account Director will manage and grow a key automotive franchise dealer account, focusing on new product launches and go-to-market strategies. This role involves leading client relationships and supervising a growing account team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product strategy and client relationships by uncovering business needs, developing strategies, and identifying solutions for client goals, especially for automotive new product launches and go-to-market strategies.
  • Provide account team leadership and communicate specific requirements for multi-functional support to appropriate functional management.
  • Partner with cross-functional agency teams to define client requirements and execute business needs, securing organic client growth in product marketing and launch.
  • Innately understand client's business and generate solutions to enhance client performance through innovative product management strategies and execution.
  • Deliver key presentations to client organizations, showcasing product launch plans, market performance, and strategic direction.
  • Lead quarterly agency review meetings and meet onsite with clients to develop strategy, present concepts, and manage performance.
  • Monitor workflow across the account team to ensure efficient delegation of projects, focusing on new product launch campaigns and asset production.
  • Manage overall client profitability, ensuring responsible financial management and delivery of account profit expectations.
  • Work closely with PMO and Campaign Strategy for delivery of all campaigns, ensuring robust product launch integration.
  • Oversee team members, providing guidance and fostering growth.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience in account leadership within an advertising agency environment
  • Demonstrated strong product management and launch expertise
  • Demonstrated track record of client relationship development and service, particularly with large, multi-layered clients
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams spanning across strategy, creative, production, and project management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Proficiency in delivery systems and project management methodologies specific to product life cycle and strategy
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced environments where priorities shift and speed matters
  • Demonstrated experience with modern, technology-enabled delivery models, including applying AI tools to scale output efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with an outgoing and strategic approach working within layered team structures
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to develop junior talent and build team cohesion during rapid growth

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of experience in account leadership within an advertising agency environment, with demonstrated strong product management and launch expertise.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with both tier one and tier three teams, preferably within the automotive category
