About This Role

This role is responsible for overseeing ED Access operations, educating staff on compliance, conducting audits, and working with the administrative team to ensure quality and productivity in patient registration and billing.

Responsibilities

  • Staff personnel to meet departmental needs and prioritize workload daily, adjusting staffing model as needed to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Monitor staff performance through various methodologies including daily/monthly quality/productivity audits.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure staff consistently meets performance standards, including training for errors that create billing delays and concerns.
  • Act as a role model and ensure staff maintains exceptional working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Monitor satisfaction benchmark tools and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Ensure information is provided to staff timely and concisely in order to maintain the accuracy of department activities.
  • Document personnel issues and promote a balanced and conducive work environment.
  • Participate in the orientation and/or training of new staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of individual responsibility and ensure staff preparedness following established Joint Commission standards and facility safety and emergency preparedness standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field PLUS three (3) years of registration and/or billing experience
  • OR High School Diploma/GED PLUS seven (7) years of registration and/or billing experience, including three (3) years of experience in a healthcare environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field OR High School Diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of registration and/or billing experience, or 7+ years registration/billing experience including 3+ years in healthcare.

Nice to Have

  • Two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • CHAA Certification
