This role assists customers with material loading and unloading, manages inventory in the lumber yard and warehouse, and ensures a safe working environment. The position is critical for maintaining efficient yard operations and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and evaluate invoice for assistance required
- Direct customers to purchased materials and assist with safe loading
- Communicate with sales and yard teams to ensure prompt customer service
- Check loaded materials against invoices for accuracy
- Pull and safely bundle loads for delivery
- Develop knowledge of materials, locations, and uses
- Efficiently and safely operate forklifts and light trucks upon certification
- Report unsafe conditions, product/property damage, and incidents immediately
- May use radial arm and panel saw to cut materials for customers
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not necessary
- 1-3 months experience preferred
