About This Role

Join a remote digital team as a Writer/Director to create high-quality, in-depth physics and science education videos for the Veritasium YouTube channel. This role involves topic generation, research, scriptwriting, and directing video edits, leading the video production from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Make the best possible video
• Deliver videos in a timely manner and lead your team
• Research various topics related to Physics, Maths, Engineering, and more, and propose video ideas
• Source experts in the field to interview or collaborate with, either on-site or virtually
• Focus on accuracy and engaging storytelling, going extremely deep in research to trace stories back to scientific papers and original sources
• Stay up to date on new research, scientific discoveries and advancements in the field and incorporate them into video scripts

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Maths, Engineering, or a related field
• Excellent research, reading comprehension, and fact-checking skills
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality content
• Passionate about educating and inspiring others about Physics and science in general

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Maths, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Proven experience in long-form or feature science communication
• Knowledge of science YouTube content
