Wordpress Developer

About This Role

The WordPress Developer will maintain, improve, and extend existing WordPress websites for various clients as part of a DEV Cases resource team. This role involves troubleshooting, customization, and ensuring responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress issues across multiple client websites
• Add, update, and manage pages using a variety of WordPress themes and page builders
• Customize and maintain WordPress themes using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Ensure responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Translate visual designs into functional, high-quality HTML/CSS while following design guidelines
• Collaborate with Project Coordinators, Designers, and Marketing teams to meet project requirements
• Manage and prioritize multiple cases and tasks with different timelines
• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, performance, and functionality before delivery
• Proactively identify opportunities for site and process improvements
• Communicate clearly regarding progress, blockers, and solutions

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites
• Hands-on coding experience using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery within WordPress environments
• Strong experience troubleshooting WordPress issues and resolving bugs
• Experience working with popular WordPress builders and themes such as Elementor and Divi
• Solid understanding of responsive design, media queries, and modern CSS practices
• Ability to translate visual designs into completed HTML pages
• Understanding of SEO fundamentals and how development impacts site performance
• High attention to detail and ability to review your own work for quality
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites

Nice to Have

• Experience working with creative, design, or marketing agencies
• Familiarity with MySQL and XML
• Experience using responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap
• Basic understanding of website performance optimization
• Experience managing multiple client websites simultaneously
