Wireless and Power Specialist

About This Role

Install, maintain, and repair wireless communication and critical facility systems, including AC&DC Power systems, UPS, inverters, backup batteries, generators, and associated electrical panels. This role involves working with 3G, 4G, 5G, Indoor DAS, FWA, and microwave PTP/PTMP radio networks, and requires on-call availability for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, especially when working at heights or electrical equipment
• Install, configure, repair, commission, and integrate network access nodes (3G, 4G, 5G, Repeater, DAS, antenna system, FWA)
• Survey, install, configure, maintain, and repair backhaul microwave transport systems
• Monitor RAN and wireless transport network for alarms, coordinate with NOC, and resolve issues
• Ensure optimal signal strength and network performance by aligning antennas, adjusting settings, and performing routine maintenance
• Maintain and troubleshoot power systems, including generators, backup batteries, and power distribution units
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance for cell site facilities, shelters, RBS, generators, HVAC, towers, and AC/DC Power Systems
• Assist in performing RF drive tests and surveys for optimal coverage and performance, and generate reports
• Perform survey, installation, and repair for FWA equipment to provide internet service to residential and enterprise customers
• Attend to trouble tickets, interact with customers to resolve connectivity issues or explain service interruptions, and close tickets
• Be on-call and respond in a timely manner during nights, weekends, and holidays in emergency situations
• Perform other functions and duties that may be requested from time to time

Requirements

• 2 years of telecommunication installation experience in aerial rigger, climbing and rescue operations (or 5 years in telecommunication network management)
• Strong understanding of wireless communication principles, networking protocols, and power systems
• Ability to work at heights, lift heavy equipment, and perform physically demanding tasks
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely
• Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions
• Understanding Ericsson mobile technologies, hardware, software, and ENM management
• Understanding of Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint microwave systems

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical, Computer, Telecommunications Engineering or related discipline
• 2 years of telecommunication installation experience in aerial rigger, climbing and rescue operations, or at least 5 years’ experience in the management of aspects of telecommunications networks can be considered as a substitute
