Weekend Forming & Freezing Utility Operator

About This Role

This position is responsible for supporting and backing up operators in the forming & freezing process, ensuring quality production and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Produce required quantity of batched recipes within established specifications
• Inspect dry ingredient materials and other raw materials for compliance
• Maintain logs and records of units produced, including rejected materials
• Perform pre-operational equipment, preventative maintenance tasks, and process inspections
• Perform quality and sanitation functions per Quality Program and Master Sanitation Schedule
• Report maintenance and quality opportunities to supervisors
• Interface with plant ERP system for inventory control, lot traceability, and tracking
• Maintain a clean, safe, orderly work area
• Support Forming Operator, learning their role and performing tasks both mechanical and manual
• Operate all equipment associated with the forming process, including formers and spiral freezer

Requirements

• Ability to follow proper food safety, quality and workplace safety procedures
• Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instruction
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Entry level, 6 months working experience in a manufacturing/production facility preferred

Nice to Have

• 6 months working experience in a manufacturing/production facility
• Forklift certification or willing to obtain
• Mechanically inclined
