Water/Wastewater Project Manager (P.E.)

About This Role

Lead mission-critical water and wastewater infrastructure programs for a nationally respected consultancy, managing the full project lifecycle and client relationships for large-scale municipal and utility projects across the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan region.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, conveyance systems, and regulatory upgrades
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across civil, process, mechanical, electrical, and construction support
• Oversee project financials, schedules, change management, and quality control
• Develop scopes of work, proposals, and client deliverables for public-sector clients
• Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal and utility stakeholders
• Support long-range planning, capital improvement programs (CIPs), and infrastructure resilience initiatives
• Mentor engineers and PMs while shaping delivery standards

Requirements

• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (MD, DC, or VA — or obtainable)
• 7–20 years of experience in water/wastewater or water resources engineering
• Proven track record managing municipal or utility infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of treatment processes, conveyance systems, and regulatory frameworks
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• 7–20 years of experience in water/wastewater or water resources engineering
