Water Maintenance Operations Specialist

About This Role

Perform journey level activities in water system maintenance and operations, individually and as part of a team, ensuring the functionality and safety of critical water infrastructure for the City of Tukwila.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and operations activities throughout the water system
• Operate hand/power tools, equipment, and machinery
• Conduct meter reading and field data collection
• Perform grounds and building maintenance
• Operate and maintain valves, pumps, and hydrants
• Install and repair water infrastructure
• Perform flagging, excavating, and emergency repair work on the water system
• Respond to inquiries, complaints, and service requests related to water systems
• Perform site maintenance activities like mowing, trimming, and litter control
• Respond to emergency events such as snow, ice, power outages, and flooding

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• 3+ years general maintenance, construction, or operations experience
• Valid Driver's License
• Flagging Card
• First Aid certification
• CPR certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 years of general maintenance, construction, or operations experience in area of assignment

Nice to Have

• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
• Washington State Water Distribution Manager level 1 certification or Operator in Training within 6 months of hire
• Washington State Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator's license
• Waste Water Certificate I
• Water Distribution Manager I.T.
