This waitstaff/server position assists the Cook in meal preparation and serving meals to residents, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience while maintaining cleanliness in the dietary department.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Cook in meal preparation and serving meals to residents
- Ensure all residents have an enjoyable meal experience
- Maintain the dietary department in a clean, safe and comfortable manner
- Perform minor preparation of food for meals and in-between meal nourishments
- Work on the tray-line, serving desserts, salads, beverages or tray set-up
- Set up dining room tables with complete individual place settings for each meal
- Deliver food carts to dining rooms and nursing stations
- Assist nursing staff with distribution of meals
- Maintain sanitary conditions of food storage areas, equipment, environment and work surfaces
- Communicate effectively and with a customer-oriented demeanor, especially with elderly and ill populations
