About This Role

The VP of Quality and Risk Management promotes high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing Quality Management/Patient Safety Programs and Performance Improvement programs across a complex, multi-site organization. This role provides an integrated framework for monitoring, evaluating, and improving quality of care, driving care excellence, and overseeing hospital regulatory and accreditation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive facility-wide standardization in targeted process improvement initiatives and evaluate success through established criteria.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive care excellence across the organization and lead strategy development for performance improvement.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and objectives, and regularly review and update the Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to establish operational performance measurements and targets, and monitor trends in key performance indicators.
  • Lead and oversee the quality department with responsibility for care excellence, disease specific care, risk management, and patient safety.
  • Perform regular analysis of facility quality and risk performance data and make recommendations for process, system, and operational changes.
  • Ensure effective execution of all activities concerning continuous regulatory and survey readiness and strategic implementation of regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a technical advisor, educator, and internal consultant to hospital management, staff, and physicians on performance improvement tools.
  • Ensure the selection, retention, and assignment of qualified competent staff to meet organizational needs.
  • Coordinate with the Patient Safety Director for event analysis, FMEA development, and proactive safety activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health related field
  • 3+ years of data analysis experience in a healthcare setting
  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare quality/risk management with demonstrated leadership
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certification in Healthcare Quality Management (CHCQM) or obtained within 12 months of hire

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health related field required; Master's Degree in Health related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare quality/risk management with demonstrated leadership required. 3+ years of data analysis experience in a healthcare setting required.

Nice to Have

  • Master's Degree in Health related field
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or health professional in the state of Tennessee or compact state
