The Virtual Care Coordinator (VCC) serves as the primary point of contact for patients seeking virtual oncology care at Moffitt, facilitating patient connection and ensuring a smooth telemedicine experience. This role involves gathering patient information, coordinating care with clinics, and educating patients on virtual health processes.
Responsibilities
- Review records, assist with patient consent, initial patient screening, and virtual health visits
- Prepare and maintain registration information for virtual care patients
- Troubleshoot and assist patients to ensure successful connection to virtual health platforms
- Provide technical support to virtual care patients and caregivers, assessing and resolving technical challenges
- Communicate pertinent information for upcoming virtual visits and ensure productivity standards are met
- Manipulate appointments in Capstone for modifications and scheduling of virtual care
- Respond to caller needs according to department protocols, resolving inquiries or escalating as appropriate
- Perform outbound calls to patients and caregivers to offer proactive technical support
- Develop a thorough understanding of policies and exercise appropriate judgment for situations outside standard protocols
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years of experience in healthcare or related field providing customer service, patient care support, or healthcare administration
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or applicable Military Training (Onc Tech and Pharm Tech experience also accepted)
- Ability to learn and use multiple health related systems (Capstone, Cerner, Soarian, Virtual Health platform, etc.)
- Knowledge of calendaring practices for virtual care appointments
- Knowledge of system support to help others download and troubleshoot
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 3 years of experience in healthcare or related field providing customer service, patient care support, or healthcare administration
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare and/or technology support
- Experience in an outpatient clinic setting
- Knowledge of Capstone for appointment modification, scheduling, and reading provider templates
