This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies and tactical plans for the Sales and National Accounts group, primarily focused on the acute care division. The VP will be responsible for attaining corporate sales goals, forecasting sales and units, and leading new product launches, while closely collaborating with other senior management to drive growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction for all activities of the assigned sales and national account groups
- Assist with the development and implementation of compensation programs
- Execute sales and marketing strategies
- Set sales strategies for their area
- Mentor and provide direction and coaching to team members in development of tactical plans
- Research and develop strategies and plans which identify sales opportunities
- Work closely with Marketing and Senior Management to develop accurate sales forecasts
- Develop sales and national account teams to ensure success of corporate goals with sales focus
- Assist EVP of Commercial Operations to develop strategic plans to ensure corporate goals are met
- Lead the Sagent project for launching and marketing all acute care products
Requirements
- At least 15 years of pharmaceutical sales experience
- 5 years in a management role within pharmaceutical sales
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and a flexible team-oriented perspective
- Ability to manage by influence versus authority, manage people who are not direct reports
- Ability to oversee multiple and competing projects in a fast-paced, changing team environment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Management experience selling into hospital providers (B2B Sales)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, post graduate studies preferred
- At least 15 years of pharmaceutical sales experience (5 in management role)
Nice to Have
- Post graduate studies preferred
- Broad career progression within pharmaceutical drug development and/or drug manufacturing industries with specific experience in quality, regulatory and manufacturing
- Broad understanding of national sales and marketing in pharmaceutical injectables industry
- Experience with GPO sales and marketing
