The VDC Coordinator at Charter Construction is responsible for creating concrete models and shop drawings, managing BIM coordination for commercial concrete-framed structures, and collaborating with project teams.
Responsibilities
- Build 3D concrete models in Tekla Structures from design drawings and documents
- Create 2D shop drawings from the 3D model in Tekla Structures for field layout
- Compare design drawings, identify discrepancies and errors, and communicate questions to the design team
- Coordinate with VDC personnel from general contractors and other subcontractors
- Work closely with Charter Project Manager during project planning and model creation
- Create as-built models and drawings using data points provided by Charter layout personnel
- Stay up to date with the latest VDC tools and technologies and drive their implementation on Charter projects
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience with CAD programs from a concrete subcontractor, general contractor/construction manager, or construction-focused school/university
- Proficient with CAD and modeling programs such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Revit
