UX Designer

About This Role

This UX Designer role at Availity focuses on advocating for users and evangelizing user-centered design to improve the usability and usefulness of the company's healthcare products. The designer will work with product teams to identify and create delightful solutions, leveraging research and designing deliverables like wireframes and interactive prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Work with Product leaders to prioritize projects that align with business values
• Define and implement foundational processes
• Mature the design library and system creation/governance
• Collaborate and work with individuals within the greater UX team
• Spend majority of time on product design
• Create designs that improve overall usability and usefulness of Availity’s products
• Add context and insight to the development of new applications and features based on research
• Independently create deliverables such as sketches, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, storyboards, user journey maps, user flows and stories, and new design system components

Requirements

• Over three years of progressive work experience designing and developing great user interactions
• Solving complex business problems with user centered design solutions within the healthcare space
• Expert level experience in Figma
• Strong understanding of HCI
• Familiarity with JIRA
• Strong understanding of accessibility within digital environments (ADA compliance)
• Experience facilitating design reviews with business leaders
• Conducting user research like usability studies
• Knowledge of web development methodologies (preferably Agile/Scrum), application design, navigation, and information architecture
• Experience designing end-to-end user experience for large scale apps and products
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across the organization
• A passion to advocate for and empathize with users
• Familiarity with user-centered design and design thinking
• Portfolio with user experience designs demonstrating involvement with product development and development teams as well as experience building design systems/components

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design and Technology, Interaction Design, Web Design & New Media, Interactive Digital Media or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. Degree in graphic design/experience in graphic design is highly preferred.
• Over three years of progressive work experience designing and developing great user interactions, solving complex business problems with user centered design solutions within the healthcare space.
