Utility Pole Inspector

About This Role

This role involves performing comprehensive utility pole inspections to ensure the integrity, safety, and functionality of wooden utility poles and related infrastructure. The inspector will identify defects, record findings, and maintain compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive utility pole inspections, treatments, and reporting
• Identify structural defects, signs of wear or damage, and environmental factors affecting pole stability
• Accurately record inspection findings, evaluations, and observations, maintaining organized records
• Adhere to all company and government safety regulations
• Complete inspection records and report according to appropriate codes and regulations
• Collect field data and perform daily and weekly reporting
• Maintain and keep records up to date on all tools, electronics, vehicles, and equipment
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, the public, and field staff
• Manage the progress of multiple inspection crews
• Demonstrate leadership abilities to supervise and motivate crews safely

Requirements

• Current and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWIs within 5 years)
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening (background check, drug test, MVR pull)
• Willingness to travel locally, statewide, or regionally extensively
• Previous pole inspection or crew member experience
• Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions (lifting up to 40lbs, hiking various terrain)

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED Preferred
• Previous pole inspection or crew member experience is required.
