Utility Locating Team Lead

About This Role

Lead a utility locating team, interact with clients to secure work, and negotiate contracts to expand the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) discipline within the company. This role involves accurately marking underground utilities using various geophysical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately mark the location of underground utilities, tanks, etc.
• Utilize RF, EM, magnetic, and ground penetrating radar equipment
• Work with coworkers, clients, and the public to complete tasks in a safe and timely manner
• Maintain a professional appearance to clients while conducting geophysical surveys at various sites
• Interact with clients to secure work and negotiate contracts to assist in growing the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) discipline
• Act as Project Manager as relates to individual sites and clients

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least three (3) years of utility locating experience
• Knowledge of utility locating theory and techniques
• Capability to act as Project Manager as relates to individual sites and clients
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least three (3) years of utility locating experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with test pit or vacuum excavation operations and equipment
• Ground penetrating radar experience
• Experience with negotiating contracts and client relations
• OSHA 40 Hour certification
• HAZWOPER certification
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction certification
