Utility General Labor

About This Role

A Utility General Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks to support manufacturing operations, ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and efficient production processes.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash bins and take out the garbage
• Clean and sanitize common areas, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness in all assigned areas
• Dust, mop, sweep, and wash floors
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to management promptly
• Review production schedules to ensure correct equipment setups and raw material presence
• Monitor all product in process and/or finished to ensure quality standards are met
• Ensure all materials are properly counted, weighed, and labeled with correct information
• Make sure all partial pallets, bags, containers are available, accessible, and properly documented
• Report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor to be reported to maintenance
• Ensure all raw materials are correct, logged, and meet customer and Company specifications
• Conduct visual quality-control inspections to ensure production process efficiency and compliance
• Maintain count of items produced and document appropriately
• Read pressure gauges, temperature controllers, and perform preventative maintenance as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, carrying, bending, standing)
• Ability to follow verbal or written instructions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

Nice to Have

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
• Experience with Food Safety Audit expectations and requirements
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks)
