Utility 1st Class-Base

About This Role

As a Utility First Class, you will perform essential utilities maintenance and repair at AGY's Aiken, SC facility. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting various utility systems to ensure efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties assigned in the Utilities area
• Complete projects with little or no supervision
• Perform HVAC, carpentry, painting, masonry, and boiler maintenance duties
• Install, operate, repair, overhaul, construct & modify any utilities equipment as needed
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on utilities systems, buildings, & grounds
• Maintain a clean work environment

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED
• 5 years industrial utility maintenance experience OR a degree in Industrial Maintenance and Advanced HVAC
• 1-2 years' experience with utility equipment (boiler systems, HVAC, compressors, natural gas and propane systems, steam systems, sewage systems, plumbing systems, fire prevention systems, or similar)

• Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, squat, twist, turn, climb, work overhead
• Ability to wear required PPE and work in a hot, confined environment
• Ability to work various shifts and days of the week, including overtime (12 hour rotating shifts)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED (Technical Certificate preferred) or a degree in Industrial Maintenance and Advanced HVAC
• 5 years industrial utility maintenance experience or a degree in Industrial Maintenance and Advanced HVAC, plus 1-2 years' experience with utility equipment.
