Utilities Superintendent

About This Role

As a Utilities Superintendent, you will lead and oversee heavy civil construction projects, ensuring high-quality results by expertly scheduling, coordinating, and supervising production and workforce. You will collaborate with teams to ensure project compliance and drive success from planning to execution.

Responsibilities

• Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs, and work schedules for assigned project work.
• Review project specifications and work with crews, field engineers, and utility companies to identify hazardous areas.
• Coordinate with internal equipment team and external vendors for appropriate equipment and materials within budget and schedule.
• Forecast work schedules to identify and mitigate potential issues with technical or scheduling recommendations.
• Provide technical input and document daily activities to resolve project risks, including construction methods, work plan, and material requirements.
• Support and promote strict adherence to safety and process controls, recommending training needs.
• Supervise sub-contractor production and workforce, recommending schedule or method adjustments as needed.

Requirements

• 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience
• 5+ years construction management experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance
• Advanced knowledge of construction site safety protocols and proven ability to enforce project safety programs
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract specific plans and specifications
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry

Qualifications

• 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, with 5+ years in construction management.

• Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules
