This role involves providing direct patient care, assisting physicians, and supporting front office operations in a fast-paced Urgent Care Center. It requires working collaboratively with medical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care by assisting with the implementation of care plans according to established standards
- Support physicians in treating various types of ailments in a fast-paced environment
- Assist front office staff and office coordinators with front office duties
- Maintain demographic, scheduling, and related information using computer-based scheduling
- Handle escalated customer service issues
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a certified or registered medical assistant program
- Minimum of one year of experience in urgent care or related healthcare environment
- CPR/BLS certification (or obtain within 4 months)
- Certified as CMA, RMA, or CCMA (or eligible and obtain within 1 year)
- Basic computer skills including EMR, Microsoft Office, Outlook
- Ability to use computer based scheduling
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Superior customer service skills
- Professional and positive communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of medical billing systems, medical coding, third party payer requirements
- Ability to process financial transactions
- Knowledge of office and laboratory procedures
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology
- Strong aptitude for detail with excellent critical thinking, multitasking, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment independently or as part of a team
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Graduate of a certified or registered medical assistant program
- Minimum of one year in urgent care or related healthcare environment required, one year of phlebotomy experience with all ages preferred.
Nice to Have
- Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience with patients of all ages
