Underwriting Coordinator

About This Role

The Property and Casualty Underwriting Coordinator maintains comprehensive documentation, coordinates the renewal process for insurance applications, and underwrites individual P&C insurance applications. This role ensures compliance with policies and regulations and delivers excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date data, electronic and physical files for underwriting records, policies, and endorsements
• Document underwriting decisions via automated desktop systems and tools
• Support the collection, validation, and organization of data related to insurance applications and underwriting submissions
• Coordinate the renewal process by gathering necessary information and preparing renewal documents
• Assist in client communications regarding renewals
• Coordinate with others to manage production activities such as submissions, quotes, declines, binds, issuance, etc. to provide accurate, timely, and quality service to clients
• Underwrite individual insurance applications for Property and Casualty coverage, applying established guidelines for policy issuance
• Ensure that underwriting activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation and information related to underwriting activities
• Communicate with clients, brokers, and underwriters to gather additional information, clarify details, and address inquiries

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in Underwriting coordination, Administrative Support or Customer service roles in insurance industry is preferred.
