About This Role

Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, summarize findings, and communicate information to physicians in a community hospital setting. This role involves independent judgment and patient-focused care within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams using independent judgment and a wide range of techniques
  • Conduct initial assessments, summarize findings, and communicate diagnostic information to interpreting physicians
  • Choose and tailor the most appropriate exam based on patient needs
  • Review patient history and prior imaging to optimize each study
  • Document results, prepare preliminary reports, and update patient records
  • Organize daily workflow, including scheduling, clerical tasks, and maintaining logs
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Use clinical judgment to distinguish normal vs. abnormal findings within your scope of practice
  • Support related duties based on licensure, training, and experience

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Ultrasound Sonography
  • Knowledge of PACS/RIS
  • Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) registration
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Ultrasound Sonography
  • 1+ year of diagnostic ultrasound experience in a hospital setting (preferred)

Nice to Have

  • 1+ year of diagnostic ultrasound experience in a hospital setting
  • ARDMS registration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Ultrasound Technology
