Join Malone Healthcare as a Travel Nurse RN specializing in Telemetry in Bakersfield, CA. This role involves managing a 31-bed unit, working night shifts, and providing high-quality patient care over a 13-week assignment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a 31-bed Telemetry unit with 11 private and 10 semi-private rooms
• Maintain a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4
• Utilize Cerner EMR system for patient documentation and charting
• Work night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Participate in the perm staff holiday rotation schedule (1 major, 1 minor holiday)
• Adhere to navy blue scrub color policy for all attire
• Read and interpret all cardiac rhythms using Phillips Tele monitors
• Manage patients requiring Cpap or Bipap (per RT)
• Float between MSW and MHB units or to 2W MedSurg remote tele, MedSurg SW, ICU for tele MS hold, or ER holds
• Provide care for common diagnoses including post-pacer, hemodialysis, new onset afib/RVR, stepdown from ICU, surgical patients, urology, oncology patients with cardiac problems, rare ortho patients, correctional patients, strokes, TBI, high acuity, heavy patients, bedsores, peg tubes, and sepsis

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Ability to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms
