Join as a Travel Nurse RN specializing in Med Surg / Telemetry in Mechanicsville, VA, for a 13-week night shift assignment. This role involves providing patient care in a surgical unit with a mix of med/telemetry patients, requiring expertise in surgical and telemetry, along with proficiency in lab draws.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 24-bed surgical unit with a mix of med/telemetry patients
• Conduct patient assessments, create and evaluate care plans, and administer medications
• Manage post-surgical and telemetry patient care and document according to unit standards
• Work closely with interprofessional team members and serve as a patient advocate
• Perform bedside shift report for continuity of care
• Provide care for surgical tele, urology, renal, amputations, podiatry, and general surgery cases
• Be comfortable with non-critical drips and basic oxygen therapy
• Mandatory major holiday coverage on a rotating basis

Requirements

• At least one year of RN experience
• Recent surgical and telemetry experience
• Proficiency in lab draws
• Ability to pass EKG exam at orientation
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility

Qualifications

• At least one year of RN experience and recent surgical and telemetry experience
