About This Role

Provide nursing care to hospital patients with diverse health problems, manage assigned patient groups, and document responses to treatments while collaborating with physicians and supporting staff. This role ensures competent patient care and effective communication with patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in a hospital to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
  • Note all changes in physician order on assigned patients
  • Assist physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations and intervene when necessary
  • Administer medication as prescribed
  • Initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Deliver patient care competently
  • Interact with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge
  • Inform patient and family of hospital procedures
  • Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
  • Delegate tasks to support staff

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
  • Some computer skills
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (Bachelor of Science or higher in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred)
  • 1 year of experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (Required)
