About This Role

Provide emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a Level 1 trauma center's Emergency Department. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for rapid diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, managing various patient acuity levels.

Responsibilities

  • Care for a diverse population including both adult and pediatric patients with urgent and emergent needs
  • Coordinate with ground ambulances and Med Flight for patients in the 58-bed ED
  • Provide care for cardiac emergencies, acute stroke, burns, pediatric and adult trauma, and participate in ECPR (ECMO) program
  • Work evening and night shifts, including 12-hour and 8-hour options as needed
  • Rotate weekend and holiday coverage
  • Float to multiple units or locations within the facility based on staffing needs
  • Use the Epic EMR system for patient documentation and management
  • Provide emergency nursing care and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for rapid diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
  • Manage a wide variety of patient acuity levels, including high-risk trauma, cardiac, stroke, and pediatric cases

Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • TNCC certification
  • Minimum of two years Emergency Department experience with both adult and pediatric populations within the last three years
  • Prior experience in an academic Level 1 Trauma center or similarly sized hospital
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Basic Arrhythmia proficiency
  • Pass a telemetry exam prior to start
  • Experience with Epic EMR, preferably within the last 12 months
  • Permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years Emergency Department experience with both adult and pediatric populations within the last three years. Prior experience in an academic Level 1 Trauma center or similarly sized hospital required. Prior travel nursing experience required.
