Travel CT Technologist

About This Role

Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images for medical diagnosis, ensuring quality and patient care in a hospital setting. This role involves positioning patients, setting equipment controls, assisting radiologists, and managing schedules for a 13-week travel contract in Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities

• Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary
• Appropriately set the controls of the related equipment, monitoring equipment and patient, making adjustments as necessary
• Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast, if applicable
• Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans
• Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures
• Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collating processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately labeling
• Schedule patients for procedures and assist with some clerical functions
• Charge procedures and supplies used to the patient record
• Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration
• Deliver quality, cost effective patient care in a professional manner
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment for both staff and customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives

Requirements

• Eighteen months prior experience in a health care setting as a CT Tech
• ARRT (CT) or ASRT certified
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
