About This Role

The Trauma Therapist provides individual and group therapeutic services to survivors of human trafficking and sexual violence, as well as their non-offending family members and supporters, ensuring timely client services and managing a caseload.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary therapy for survivors of sexual violence, non-offending family members, partners, guardians or loved ones of all ages
  • Co-facilitate survivor support groups
  • Provide consultation and education to survivors and their supporters, connecting them to appropriate community support services
  • Engage guests and clients in a supportive manner to build trust and recovery
  • Employ culturally appropriate intervention strategies consistent with empirically supported treatments and program expectations
  • Actively identify and support linkages to community resources (e.g. communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, mutual self-help groups, professional services)
  • Employ strategies for engagement with survivors of trafficking that allow for building rapport and trust slowly over time
  • Assist individuals in identifying barriers and developing strategies to overcome them
  • Complete data collection, data entry, reports, and administrative paperwork according to program timelines and standards
  • Effectively coordinate client care with other service providers and community resources to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Services, Counseling, Art Therapy and/or a related field
  • Valid OH license (LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC)
  • 2+ years of direct clinical/therapy experience
  • 2+ years of experience with survivors of sexual violence
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Services, Counseling, Art Therapy and/or a related field
  • 2+ years of direct clinical/therapy experience and 2+ years of experience with survivors of sexual violence

  • Prior experience in the field of substance use
