About This Role

The Transportation Fleet Mechanic will maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles while ensuring DOT compliance and operational efficiency for Evermore Orlando Resort, a luxury hospitality destination.

Responsibilities

  • Perform DOT-mandated inspections (e.g., pre-trip, post-trip, annual inspections) and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet DOT safety standards and conduct DVIR reviews, addressing issues promptly.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance including oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Use fleet tracking systems (Ford Pro, Fleetio, etc.) to log repairs and inspections.
  • Track parts inventory and order supplies as needed, assisting in budgeting for maintenance costs.
  • Provide on-call support for breakdowns and emergency repairs, assisting in vehicle recovery and towing.
  • Train drivers on basic vehicle checks and preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Dispose of hazardous materials (oil, coolant, batteries) according to regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the mechanic shop.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience performing maintenance and repairs on trucks and heavy-duty vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple demands

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience performing maintenance and repairs on trucks and heavy-duty vehicles.

Nice to Have

  • Valid Florida CDL Class A or B driver’s license with passenger endorsement
  • Certification from a recognized automotive training program (e.g., ASE)
