The Transportation Clerk provides crucial support to retailers, vendors, drivers, and internal teams, ensuring accurate and on-time deliveries. This role involves coordinating routes, resolving delivery concerns, and supporting administrative and operational functions within the Transportation department.
Responsibilities
- Develop rapport with store personnel, vendors, and AG staff and drivers for a positive working environment
- Complete daily and weekly transportation reports as assigned
- Complete ad hoc reports as directed
- Gather Trailer Load Worksheets (TLW) from dock supervision for processing
- Input required information from TLW into Delivery Receipt program and print Delivery Receipts
- Facilitate same day and overnight route departures
- Communicate with warehouse management to correct loading errors or deficiencies
- Notify stores of delivery changes or additional scheduled deliveries, and communicate store concerns
- Notify drivers of schedule changes
- Communicate with computer room on daily store equipment needs and transport equipment to transportation department for distribution
- Gather and transport all retail mail from the Campbell Building mail room to the transportation department
- Accurately distribute equipment and mail to stores on a nightly basis
- Assist dispatch supervisor in preparing assigned work information and store mail for distribution
- Communicate with guards and distribute required check sheets daily
- Maintain accurate DOT (Department of Transportation) information within the Peoplenet Fleet Manager system
- Monitor and report on driver activity utilizing Peoplenet Fleet Manager information, noting system alerts for HOS and equipment failure
- Maintain ADI schedule integrity by making daily adjustments as changes are announced by the routing office
- Periodically perform driver dispatch function
- Support Associated Grocers stated policies and procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Louisiana driver’s license
- Appropriate motor vehicle record
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Entry level with 0-3 months related experience or training
Nice to Have
- Map Reading Skills

- Familiarity with Transportation and Warehouse Management Systems
- Familiarity with ADI (time and attendance system)
