Transmissions Technician

About This Role

This position is primarily responsible for the repair and overhaul of mechanically operated aircraft components for an aviation company in Auburn, Washington. The role requires the ability to read, write, and understand English, follow directions, and work in various teamwork settings.

Responsibilities

• Test, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble aircraft components
• Work overtime and holidays on short notice
• Follow customer's special instructions and requirements
• Follow all company procedures and policies
• Follow all safety and security policies and regulations
• Back up department functions and cross-train in other departments
• Report to work on a regular and consistent basis

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• 1 year + of mechanical experience
• Ability to read and understand component maintenance/overhaul manuals
• Ability to read and understand drawings, wiring schematics and flow diagrams
• Ability to demonstrate the use of common hand tools
• Ability to demonstrate the use of torque wrenches, micrometers, and dial calipers
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to fifty (50) lbs. on a consistent basis
• Ability to wear a respirator for up to 8 hours per day
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent
• 1+ year of mechanical experience

Nice to Have

• Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant license
• 1 year + of transmissions experience
