Conduct analysis through research, gathering, and interpretation of data, with a focus on bulk electric system transmission reliability to ensure stability and resilience of the electrical grid through real-time monitoring and optimization of market operations. Present analysis and recommendations to management and lead implementation of selected alternatives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor bulk electric system transmission operations and past energy market dynamics, including generation output, load forecasts, and transmission constraints
- Analyze market activities to determine any possible shortfalls/patterns
- Assist with the identification of bulk electric system transmission congestion within the PacifiCorp system
- Prepare key managerial performance reports associated with Real Time Market transmission reliability
- Perform complex assignments lacking precedent and requiring creativity
- Prepare regular reports, incident analyses, and post-event assessments to evaluate bulk electric system transmission performance
- Provide advice or functional direction and assume a lead role in the work group
- Perform audits and inquiries; assess business issues and risks within the organization
- Research and analyze complex data
- Report on performance and develop alternatives and recommendations for improvement to management
- Lead implementation of selected alternative to various analysis projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other applicable fields or equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience in data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar systems
- Project management skills including project leadership, task identification, scheduling, and cost/expenditure identification
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization and as a team member
- Knowledge of applicable company policies, procedures, federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other applicable fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling skills
Nice to Have
- Knowledge and understanding of the electric utility industry and its regulatory and operating environments
- Experience with bulk electric system transmission market operations
- Experience working within a control center environment
- Understanding of project life cycles
- Understanding of FERC/NERC requirements
