Trailer Technician

About This Role

The Trailer Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7-8 trailers, ensuring proper operation by operating vehicles and testing their working parts. This role requires adherence to Federal Guidelines for DOT Inspection and Repairs of Heavy-Duty Trailers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
• Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance
• Ability to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind the cab using normally available footholds and handholds
• Own hand tools
• Perform DOT inspections
• Basic computer skills
• Basic written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
