Trailer Mechanic

About This Role

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on various types of trailers including dryvan, refrigerated, flatbeds, and end dump trailers. Ensure adherence to safety and service excellence standards while providing accurate documentation for repairs.

Responsibilities

• Commit to Safety and Service Excellence
• Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections (DOT, PM)
• Perform air brake diagnostics, repairs and inspections
• Perform ABS diagnostics and repairs utilizing a laptop diagnostic system
• Perform floor, roof, door and side panel repairs
• Perform minor and major accident repairs
• Perform electrical systems diagnostics and repairs
• Perform wheel end repairs and adjustments
• Perform aluminum and steel welding
• Perform general repairs on trailer and trailer dollies
• Perform PM maintenance accurately and efficiently
• Adhere to all warranty policies and procedures
• Use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnostics and repair
• Provide accurate documentation on repair orders

Requirements

• Ability to make quality repairs to suspension, lighting/electrical system, air brake and ABS systems, steel and aluminum welding, and trailer body/structure and doors (for experienced applicants)
• Ability to perform accurate and complete preventive maintenance inspections, PMs, and annual DOT inspections (for experienced applicants)
• Ability to use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnostics and repair
