Trader I/II/Sr/Principal

About This Role

This role involves managing a natural gas trading portfolio with a focus on Gulf markets, optimizing trading opportunities through detailed market analysis and risk management. The trader will execute physical and financial transactions, drive profitability, and ensure compliance with risk limits.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, develop and execute strategies to capture profitable term natural gas trading opportunities within the Gulf region
• Monitor and evaluate relevant market conditions, pivoting in/out of trades as necessitated by market conditions
• Evaluate existing trading processes and collaborate with trading personnel to improve efficiency, transparency and value-added measures
• Evaluate, execute, and manage short and long-term storage positions across the Gulf
• Develop optimization and trading strategies and direct origination efforts to execute these strategies
• Clearly communicate summaries of relevant market conditions & opportunities upward within the organization
• Establish and execute trading strategies to optimize the value of EQT's contractual pipeline capacity & storage assets

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of regional pipeline/storage infrastructure and respective supply and demand composition
• Working relationships with commercial participants
• Ability to construct a regional supply & demand model
• Knowledge of specific pipeline constraints, flows, costs, storage, contracts, end users and scheduling
• Experience trading physical, futures, swaps, options, storage, index and spreads
• Ability to meaningfully contribute to the development of natural gas commercial strategies
• Understanding of the calculation of intrinsic & extrinsic values of transportation capacity and storage opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination
• Masters degree in business, finance, engineering, or related field
