Trademark Paralegal

About This Role

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trademark Paralegal with 10 years of expertise in trademark and copyright law to manage and maintain trademark and copyright portfolios, prepare and file legal documents, and provide client communication. This remote role supports attorneys in various routine legal matters and complex IP matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain trademark and copyright portfolios, including conducting clearance searches and preparing/filing applications.
• Prepare and file routine IP-related documents such as trademark/copyright applications, responses to office actions, and renewal applications.
• Provide support in trademark and copyright disputes, including organizing case files and assisting with deposition preparation.
• Conduct thorough trademark and copyright research, analyze registrability of marks, and prepare legal memoranda.
• Oversee deadlines and docketing for renewals, oppositions, cancellations, and other key IP events.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, drafting professional correspondence and scheduling client meetings.
• Coordinate with clients to collect necessary documentation for trademark and copyright filings.
• Assist attorneys with routine legal matters and documentation in various practice areas as needed.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience as a paralegal specializing in intellectual property law, specifically in trademark and copyright.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent legal education.
• In-depth knowledge of trademark and copyright law and procedures, including filing with the USPTO and handling international filings.
• Proficiency in legal research tools, such as TESS, TSDR, and other trademark databases.
• Strong knowledge of IP docketing and case management systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a particular emphasis on client communication.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent legal education
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a paralegal specializing in intellectual property law, specifically in trademark and copyright.

Nice to Have

• Experience with IP litigation support.
• Familiarity with international and domestic IP filing processes and strategies.
