Serve as the face of O'Neal Steel in the Knoxville, TN area, building new business and strengthening existing customer relationships with manufacturers and fabricators. Deliver exceptional service and align carbon, alloy, stainless, and aluminum solutions with their production needs.
Responsibilities
- Grow revenue by building new business and deepening existing customer relationships throughout the Knoxville territory.
- Deliver exceptional service to current accounts—respond quickly, resolve issues, and continually add value.
- Report daily activity to sales management, including prospecting cadence, account development progress, and presentations given.
- Serve as the primary account coordinator for assigned customers and strategic partners.
- Encourage multi-line purchases and cost-saving initiatives to expand each customer’s relationship with O’Neal.
- Evaluate profitability across all accounts and prune unprofitable business.
- Take full ownership of every O’Neal interaction within your assigned book of business.
Requirements
- 3+ years of successful sales experience in metals distribution or a closely related industrial sector.
- Clear, confident communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter who thrives working independently.
- Proficiency with standard business software and internet-based tools.
- Willingness to travel within the territory, including overnight travel.
- Working knowledge of O’Neal Steel’s general product lines.
- Ability to focus and perform in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of successful sales experience in metals distribution or a closely related industrial sector.
