Technician, THV Sewing

About This Role

This role involves applying skill and dexterity in the sewing of tissue and non-tissue components and tissue processing to produce medical devices. The technician will perform assembly, inspection, and verification tasks in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Use tools including needles, scissors, forceps, specialized tooling, and microscope to perform assigned steps in the sewing assembly of valves
• Execute receiving, trimming, fixation, die cutting, and measurements for Porcine Pericardium tissue per JVT released procedures
• Utilize equipment such as fume hood, Litematic, and press to perform tissue processing
• Perform verifications, against specifications, of completed steps, and execute work in an assembly line
• Review, follow, and perform job functions in compliance with established work instructions and SOPs, including recording traceable information on device history records
• Support activities corresponding to other work procedures to provide support to operations processes
• Assist Engineering in root cause analysis investigations for component nonconformance
• Maintain regular attendance and work a full 8-hour or longer work period
• Perform general work area housekeeping

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to use small hand tools, hand-eye coordination, and high manual dexterity
• Ability to handle animal tissue and wet processes
• Ability to work effectively and collaborate within cross-functional teams
• Ability to read, comprehend, and speak English with good communication skills
• Knowledge of and adherence to Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to clean room medical device manufacturing
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision by following detailed manufacturing instructions
• Basic computer skills

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent
• Previous sewing, clean room, or medical device experience preferred
