Technician - Advanced

About This Role

This role is an integral part of the Customer Experience team within Bell's Ontario Field Operations, responsible for maintaining the outside cable network that provides voice and data services to customers. The Technician will provision and maintain the network, support outages, and complete assurance routines to ensure optimal network performance.

Responsibilities

• Provision and maintain the network
• Provide support in the event of a network outage to minimize cycle time and ensure service availability
• Complete all assurance and routines to ensure the network is working at optimum levels
• Plan, coordinate, and ensure all activities related to daily work and projects are completed following company practices and processes
• Perform tasks associated with the provisioning, service assurance, maintenance and project coordination with various technologies
• Partner with various internal and external parties
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

Requirements

• College diploma in electronics or telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
• High school diploma (for external candidates)
• Fluent in English
• Valid driver’s license - Class G or G2
• Good manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools
• Capable of lifting and carrying heavy weight
• Capable of climbing and carrying step ladders
• Capable of kneeling, bending, and working in restricted movement areas
• Capable of differentiating colored wires (color code)
• Capable of safely executing all job functions and meeting safety requirements
• Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Analytical thinking and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and variable schedules

Qualifications

• College diploma in electronics or telecommunications, or equivalent work experience and a high school diploma
