This role supports lead program faculty instructors in technical education, helping trainees achieve educational goals and promoting skill development in critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. This position also provides facilities support during non-instructional times.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of the supported field or disciplines
- Instill technical competencies and employment behavior in participants
- Maintain a lab environment conducive to effective, learner-centered practices
- Enforce rules compliant with MATC policies to ensure a safe learning environment
- Implement safe precautions to protect participants, equipment, and facilities
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, college committees, and activities
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public regarding MATC's mission
- Assist in the selection of resource materials and equipment and recommend facility improvements
- Assist lead faculty with recruitment and creation of workforce training opportunities
- Increase industry and secondary institution partnerships
- Maintain campus grounds including mowing, snow removal, landscaping, and trash pickup
- Respond to maintenance requests and perform routine repairs
- Perform interior building cleaning services as necessary
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment and handling deliveries
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of work experience
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize common construction formulas to code specifications
- Strong computer and word processing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including public speaking
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Qualifications
- Certificate and/or AAS in program disciplines or related building trade field
- Minimum of two years of work experience, four preferred; post-secondary teaching or industry trainer experience preferred
