Team Manager, UX Designer

About This Role

Lead and expand a team of UX designers to create innovative, agentic learning experiences for higher education, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution. Partner closely with product, engineering, and research to drive dynamic and personalized learning solutions that shape the future of education.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of UX designers through coaching, feedback, and career guidance
• Own UX delivery across a product area, ensuring quality, consistency, and predictability
• Prioritize and sequence work to balance short‑term execution and long‑term experience goals
• Partner closely with product and engineering to align roadmaps, priorities, and success metrics
• Run design planning, critique, and review rituals that support clarity and momentum
• Unblock teams by resolving ambiguity, clarifying scope, and navigating trade‑offs
• Reinforce design standards, accessibility, and design system adoption

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of professional experience in UX design
• 3+ years leading designers
• Experience designing products that leverage agentic AI
• Experience designing with AI prototyping tools to enhance workflows
• Strong foundation in end‑to‑end UX design across complex, multi-surface products
• Proven experience managing priorities across multiple workstreams and stakeholders
• Ability to make decisions under ambiguity and communicate trade‑offs clearly
• Collaborative leadership style that builds trust across product, engineering, and design
• Ability to switch between hands‑on design guidance and higher‑level planning

Qualifications
