Team Manager, UX Designer

About This Role

Lead and inspire a team of UX designers to create innovative, agentic learning experiences for higher education, bridging strategic vision with hands-on execution to transform how students learn.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of UX designers through coaching, feedback, and career guidance
• Own UX delivery across a product area, ensuring quality, consistency, and predictability
• Prioritize and sequence work to balance short-term execution and long-term experience goals
• Partner closely with product and engineering to align roadmaps, priorities, and success metrics
• Run design planning, critique, and review rituals that support clarity and momentum
• Unblock teams by resolving ambiguity, clarifying scope, and navigating trade-offs
• Reinforce design standards, accessibility, and design system adoption

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in UX design
• 3+ years leading designers
• Experience designing products that leverage agentic AI
• Experience designing with AI prototyping tools
• Strong foundation in end-to-end UX design across complex, multi-surface products
• Proven experience managing priorities across multiple workstreams and stakeholders
• Ability to make decisions under ambiguity and communicate trade-offs clearly
• Collaborative leadership style that builds trust across product, engineering, and design
• Ability to switch between hands-on design guidance and higher-level planning

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of professional experience in UX design, with 3+ years leading designers
